1 2017 RAIDERS “All For The Team”A lot of you are looking at a possible military future…. One term or a career does not matter. You will deal with a product of the Military Justice system. Simple things that you do here in school will cost you in the military There are certain rights you have in the real world that you do not have in the military. Freedom of speech is curtailed, you do what you are told to do as long as it is a legal order. It is not for everyone….you got it or you don’t have it and the military will do what it can to get rid of the “DON’T HAVE IT’s” Want you to have an understanding of what to expect. It is fun to be on a court martial panel “All For The Team”

2 2017 GOALS Commitment – 100% (Academically, Physically, Mentally)Come into the school year ready (physically and mentally) Place in the Top 4 Overall every meet Overall place in Area standings / qualify for the State Meet Field a male team and mixed (must be competitive – Min 5 FMs) Compete in the National Raider Meet in November Earn 15 trophy's Count Review OBJs Review all the objs. Lose it or leave! Your call now; mine in Aug/Sep/Oct Grades – some of you will not qualify due to grades. 4 Selection Criteria Looked at males and females separatelyRanked events in order of finish Best time ranked #1, second best time ranked #2, etc) All ties awarded the lower point value Add up all event rankings, lowest is best Males: 35 points or less / Below 16:30 two mile run (Horrible) Females: 14 points or less / Below 23:00: two mile (Horrible) Conditional status if you do not meet the criteria 1st in line to be cut by new members (tie goes to new Cadets) OR No significant fitness improvement over the summer Pull-ups were just an assessment. 6 2017 Way Ahead You must train over the summerRun times must improve drastically 2017 Raiders retest: 4 Aug (2 mile run / Ruck run / Pull Ups) Male: Below 14:00, 1:20, 6 chip ups Female: Below 16:30, 1:45, 3 chin ups Conditional member retest: 7 Aug Same Male and Female requirements New Cadet Tryouts: 8 and 9 Aug (This may change to Aug) 1.5 Mile run under 11:30, Chin-ups, Ruck Run, Tire flip, PTT Practice starts: 3 Aug (Swiss Seat Class) Optional retest days 24 July at 0700 or 31 July at 0630 Appointment only – advantage is a morning run vice afternoon heat 10 Max per day – first come; first serve (schedule via ) Must attend one summer work day (21 Jun or 12 July) Monday morning practices start 21 Aug (T) Review OBJs Review all the objs. 9 Summer Running COMMITMENT Upper Body and Cardio is keyYou must do push-ups daily; push-ups 3-4 times a day will increase you strength significantly Chin-ups for rope bridge Run a minimum of 4 days a week. 3 runs must be a min of 3.5 miles Smart Phone….track your runs STRAVA app… https://www.strava.com/clubs/281896 Track all your runs over the summer; I will monitor daily Join - Borrow a smart phone if needed or run with a buddy Get ready to run, lift weights, and train (In season week) Monday: 5K run, weights, cross fit workouts (Morning Practices) Tuesday: Event training, Conditioning, and min 2.5 – mile run Wednesday: Work Days as required Thursday: Rope Bridge and 1.5 mile run Review OBJs Review all the objs. 20 Participation RequirementsPractices Attend all practices (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) Unexcused absence, no participation in upcoming meet 24-Hour Rule – let the Raider Commander /Deputy Commander know 24 hours out if you can not make practice. The day of does not count! Zero CELL PHONES at practice site (exceptions for emergencies) Practice starts at 1545; be ready at that time Uniform Inspections – miss one, one week suspension Spring Training First Practice – Bring PT Clothes (drink water) Every Tuesday and Thursday till exams (1545 – 1730) Summer Training – we will set up a few days over the summer for one rope bridge Review OBJs Review all the objs.
