2 Affirmative and Negative Words

3 Affirmative alguien – somebody, anybody algo – something, anything alguno, alguna (pronoun) – some, any algún, alguna (adj.) siempre -always también – also, too ya - already todavía - still

4 Negative nadie – nobody, anybody nada – nothing, anything ninguno, ninguna (pronoun) – none, not any ningún, ninguna (adj.) nunca - never tampoco – neither, either todavía no – not yet ya no – not yet

5 Algún and ningún are always written with an accent.

6 Affirmative words usually come before the main verb of the sentence. In a question they may come after the verb.

7 Ella también lo recuerda. Alguien cumplió años? Se repartió algo? Siempre vas a la panadería?

8 Negative words may come before or after the verb. But if they come after, we must use no before the verb.

9 Nadie fue a la reunión. No fue nadie a la reunión.

10 Nunca llora. No llora nunca.

11 Ninguno de ellos se quitó el abrigo. No se quitó el abrigo ninguno de ellos.
