2 Las reglas  Use the imperfect subjunctive when the context of the sentence is in the past.  Same subjunctive criteria still apply.  Imperfect forms:  Use the ellos/ellas preterite form  Remove the –ron ending  Add the imperfect subjunctive endings

3 Las terminaciones  Same endings for –AR, -ER, -IR!  Yora  Túras  El/ella/ud.ra  Nosotrosramos  Vosotrosrais  Ellos/as/uds.ran

4 Ejemplo (tener)  Preterite “ellos/ellas” form: tuvieron  Yotuviera  Tútuvieras  El/ella/ud.tuviera  Nosotrostuviéramos  Vosotrostuvierais  Ellos/as/uds.tuvieran  Notice: you’ll need an accent mark in the nosotros form.

5  Los padres querían que nosotros comiéramos con ellos.  The parents wanted us to eat with them.  Mi madre sugirió que yo hiciera la tarea.  My mom suggested that I do my homework.
