4 El iniciador de la Bandera de la Paz, fue el ilustre artista Nicolás Röerich (1874—1947).El pacto Röerich que tiene 8 artículos se define el compromiso de cuidar los espacios patrimoniales y de cultura, este y la Bandera de la Paz fueron creados y promovidos con el fin de proteger los tesoros del Género humano, estableciendo que las Instituciones Educativas, artísticas, científicas y religiosas, así como los lugares de relevancia cultural debían ser declarados inviolables y respetados por todas las Naciones tanto en tiempo de guerra como en los tiempos de Paz.

5 The initiator of the Banner of Peace, was the illustrious artist Nicholas Röerich (1874—1947). In the Röerich Pact, which has 8 articles, states the commitment of taking care of the heritage and cultural sites. The Pact and the Banner of Peace were created and promoted by Nicholas Röerich, in order to protect the treasures of Mankind, stating that the Educational, Artistic, Scientific and Religious Institutions, as well as places with cultural relevance, should be declared inviolable and respected by all Nations both, in wartime and in Peacetime.Röerich (1874—1947)

6 Es una Asociación no lucrativa que ha sido distinguida por Naciones Unidas debido a su trabajo por la Paz en varios países. No representa a ninguna religión ni ideología política. Su mensaje es de INTEGRACIÓN Y PAZ, para lograr LA UNIDAD EN LA DIVERSIDAD. Su labor consiste en difundir y dar a conocer el mensaje de la Bandera de la Paz y de su iniciador, el Profesor Nicolás K. Roerich.La Dra. Alicia Rodríguez como Presidenta del Comité Internacional de la Bandera de la Paz, Organismo no Gubernamental de las Naciones Unidas, ha recorrido buena parte del Planeta, creando consciencia de la urgente necesidad que tenemos de vivir en paz y en armonía.

7 It is a non-profit Association which has been honored by the United Nations because of their work for Peace in several countries. It does not represent any religion or political ideology. Its message is of INTEGRATION AND PEACE, in order to achieve UNITY IN DIVERSITY. Their work consist in spreading and publicize the message of the Banner of Peace and of the initiator, Professor Nicholas K. Röerich. Dr. Alicia Rodriguez, President of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace, has traveled a large part of the wolrld raising awareness of the urgent need to live in Peace and Harmony.

10 La Alianza de Mesas Redondas Panamericanas, fue Distinguida con la Bandera de la Paz en 1989, por la Dra. Alicia Rodríguez, a la MRP de la Ciudad de México. En el año 2008 la Mesa de Querétaro retomó el enlace por medio de la Sra. Gloria Sosa de Muñoz a quien abanderaron en nombre de la misma. Posteriormente el 23 de Octubre del 2008, durante los festejos del 80 Aniversario de la Mesa Decana de la Cd. De México, la Dra. Rodríguez abanderó a 32 Mesas de México y Estados Unidos en una emotiva celebración, con gran visión, la Sra. Martha Ofelia Martínez de Calderón Directora Gral. De Alianza en ese tiempo atinadamente formo lo que se llamó “Comité Especial de Enlace con la Bandera de la Paz” y el 16 de Octubre de 2010 durante la XXXII Convención de la Alianza 64 Mesas de diferentes Países son distinguidas y retoman el Compromiso de Trabajar por la Paz.

11 The Alliance of Pan American Round Tables was Honored with the Banner of Peace in 1989, by Dr. Alicia Rodriguez. It was until the year 2008 that the PART of Queretaro retook the liaison through Mrs. Gloria Sosa de Muñoz who was standard bearer on behalf of the Table. Then, on October 23, 2008, during the 80th. Anniversary Celebration of the Dean Table of Mexico city, Dr. Rodriguez Distinguished 32 Tables of Mexico and the United States with the Banner of Peace in a touching ceremony. With great vision, Mrs. Martha Ofelia Martinez de Calderon, Alliance Director General at that time, wisely appointed what was named: "Special Committee of Liaison with the Banner of Peace” and in October 16, 2010, during the XXXII Alliance Convention, 64 Tables from different Countries were distinguished and retook the Commitment to Work for Peace.

12 Para el siguiente Bienio 2010-2012, La Directora General de Alianza, Sra. Ana María Acuña de Macedo, decide formar la Comisión Especial “Educando para la Paz “, poniendo al frente a la Quim. Yolanda Aquino como Presidenta para continuar promoviendo a las más de 120 Mesas que tienen la Bandera de la Paz a comprometerse en trabajar por la Paz, primero en las propias Mesas con toda las socias, posteriormente en los niños y jóvenes que son el futuro de Nuestros Países, sembrando la semilla de la Paz.

13 For the next Biennium 2010-2012, the Alliance Director General, Mrs. Ana Maria Acuña de Macedo, decided to form the Special Commision "Educating for Peace" appointing Quim. Yolanda Aquino as Chairman, to continue promoting the more than 120 Tables who have the Banner of Peace, to commit themselves to work for Peace... first in their own Tables with all Members, then with children and youth, who are the future of Our Countries... sowing the seed of Peace.

15 Derived from the desire of several Tables to continue working in the Program "Together We Build Peace", from October 2012, the Special Commission becomes Permanent Committee during the XXXIV Convention of the APART, for the joy of all of us and with the support of the Director General Mrs. Elsie Perez.

16 Fomentar la Paz, Armonía y Unidad al interior de las Mesas Redondas Panamericanas, mediante la capacitación primeramente de sus Socias en este Programa y posterior apoyo a la comunidad, para poder capacitar y trabajar en el programa “Juntos construimos la Paz” en las Escuelas, de Educación Básica o Universitaria, a través de pláticas ó Conferencias sobre los Pilares de una cultura para la Paz, instituido por la Unesco, siguiendo los lineamientos establecidos para este Programa que se incluye en párrafo aparte y con esto dar continuidad a nuestro trabajo Panamericano de incrementar el acervo cultural de cada una de sus Socias.

17 Promoting Peace, Harmony and Unity within the Pan American Round Tables providing training... first to the Members in this Program and then giving support to the community in order to train and work in the Program "Together We Build Peace" in Elementary Schools, High Schools or Collage, through lectures or Conferences on the Pillars of a Culture for Peace, established by the UNESCO, following with the guidelines set for this Program which is included in a separate paragraph and thereby continue our Pan American work of increasing the cultural acquis of each of its Members.

18 Sembrar en las Socias de las Mesas Redondas, los niños y jóvenes, el compromiso por la Paz y la No Violencia en su interior, en su familia, en su entorno, para lograr un mundo más comprometido con la Paz y la Justicia en Nuestra América, sueño y legado de nuestra Fundadora Florence Terry Griswold y con esto contribuir en estos tiempos agitados a reducir la agresión desde la infancia en la formación de las nuevas generaciones. Edificando una verdadera cultura de Paz desde nuestras propias Mesas, para los niños y jóvenes en sus escuelas y así modificar actitudes para que la respuesta natural a los conflictos sea pacífica y se oriente hacia el diálogo y el razonamiento y no hacia la agresión, siguiendo los lineamientos del programa “Juntos construimos la Paz".

19 To sow in the Members of Pan American Round Tables, chidren and youth, the commitment for Peace, and the Nonviolence within, in their family, in their environment... to achieve a more committed world with Peace and Justice in Our America... dream and legacy of our Founder Florence Terry Griswold... and thereby help in these troubled times, to reduce aggression from childhood in the formation of new generations. Building a true culture of Peace from our own Tables, for chidren and youth in their schools... changing attitudes, so the natural response to conflicts can be peaceful and be guided to dialogue and reasoning, not to aggression... following the guidelines of the Program "Together We Build Peace".

20 El propósito de este Programa adecuado a la AMRP, es lograr una Cultura de Paz a través de las Socias de las Mesas Redondas, que surja como un cambio de actitud, ante la problemática de violencia, en todas sus expresiones que vivimos a diario. A través del Programa “Juntos construimos la Paz”, la Socia de la Mesa Redonda, se convierte en mediador de los conflictos y promueve la Paz, no solo en su Mesa, sino también con sus amigos, vecinos y familia, llegando el mensaje hasta sus familias, para reflejarse directamente en nuestra Sociedad y cambiar la Violencia por la Paz.Con esto colaboraremos en crear una cultura armónica y distinguirnos como Mujeres Panamericanas, diferentes por el solo hecho de vivir en armonía con todos y llevar la cultura de Paz a nuestros hogares y comunidad.

21 The purpose of this Program suitable to the APART, is to achieve a Culture of Peace through the Members of the Pan American Round Tables, arising as a change of attitude towards the problem of violence, in all the expressions we live daily. Each month, a Member will be appointed to build peace among her peers. She will be distinguished with a pin of the Banner of Peace which she must wear near her heart. She is the mediator and protector of Peace. She will oversee that a peaceful relation exists among her peers. She will solve problems, if any, and promote harmony.

22 A través del Programa “Juntos construimos la Paz”, la Socia de la Mesa Redonda, se convierte en mediador de los conflictos y promueve la Paz, no solo en su Mesa, sino también con sus amigos, vecinos y familia, llegando el mensaje hasta sus familias, para reflejarse directamente en nuestra Sociedad y cambiar la Violencia por la Paz.Cada mes una socia, será elegida para construir la paz entre sus compañeras. Se le distingue con un botón con la Bandera de la Paz, que llevará sobre su corazón. Es la mediadora y protectora de la Paz. Tiene a su cuidado la convivencia pacífica entre sus compañeras. Resuelve los problemas si los hubiere y promueve la armonía

23 Through the Program "Together We Build Peace", the Member of the Round Table becomes a mediator of conflicts and promotes Peace not only in her Table, but also with her friends, neighbors and family, reaching the message to other families to be directly reflected in our Society, changing Violence for Peace. Each month, a Member will be appointed to build peace among her peers. She will be distinguished with a pin of the Banner of Peace which she must wear near her heart. She is the mediator and protector of Peace. She will oversee that a peaceful relation exists among her peers. She will solve problems, if any, and promote harmony.

24 Será este el primer pilar con el que iniciaremos, nuestra labor, si seleccionamos a las Escuelas por su impacto educacional en nuestra comunidad, sin discriminar a las escuelas de barrios marginados, estaremos cumpliendo con el segundo pilar; posteriormente podemos llevar a nuestras Sesiones Conferencias a las Escuelas para cumplir con el tercer pilar, y así seguir avanzando hasta alcanzar el quinto pilar. Una vez terminado el programa con las Socias, Quedará a criterio de las Mesas, la frecuencia con la que asistirán a las Escuelas, semanalmente, quincenalmente etc. estando siempre presentes el mayor número de Socias

25 This will be the first pillar with which we will begin our work. If we select Schools by their educational impact on our community, without discriminating slum schools, we will be complying with the second pillar. We can then take our Conference Sessions to Schools in order to comply with the third pillar and thus move forward until we reach the fifth pillar. Once the Program with the Members is accomplished, it shall be within the Tables' criteria how often they will be visiting Schools... weekly, every two weeks, etc., always attending the highest number of Members possible.

26 Actualmente el Programa ha tenido tanto éxito que ha alcanzado los medios de comunicación como en el caso de la Mesa Redonda Panamericana "Josefa Toledo de Aguerri", Granada, Nicaragua que aborda este Tema con frecuencia en su programa radial "Puente Cultural Hispanoamericano", el cual se transmite por Radio Volcán, 102.9FM, todos los Domingos de 10:00am. a 11:00 am.

27 Currently, the Program has been so successful that has reached the media as in the case of the PART Josefa Toledo Aguerri of Managua Nicaragua, that addressed this topic in the Program Hispanic Cultural Bridge.
