Abstract: Environmental pollution generates oxidative stress in living organisms, a situation which induces formation of free radicals and other reactive oxygen species, and molecules that indicate cell damage and antioxidant activity in response to that stress. Egeria densa is a freshwater plant present at Gascón river, Santiago de Cuba city, exposed to water pollution. In this research non-enzymatic and enzymatic biomarkers of oxidative stress were evaluated on Egeria densa leaf samples on four sampling stations in order to study physiological response face of anthropogenic pollution. Results show a significant increase (p
