2 Comparison Assumptions  Ops, dev, and Manufacturing costs equivalent (i.e. not shown).  Return of crews on ISS logistics flights are not shown for either case.  SEP/HPM/CTM/LL logistics flights not counted in either case.  STS capacity – 15000 kg  Delta IV Heavy capacity – 35000 kg  EX version requires STS launch for Logi-pack and crew.  HPM version assumes crew is launched during ISS logistics flight. STS launch is not counted.  EX version uses disposable LL's with re-usable SEP's for L1 transfer.  HPM version uses re-usable LL and SEPs.  Reusable Lunar Lander fuel capacity – 25000kg  90 days is assumed for HPM and LL checkout + LL mission + contingency for ISS return.  LL refueling SEPs stay attached to HPMs for ease of planning and execution. The number of HPMs and SEPs could be reduced by changing this assumption.
