Introduction Being a high school physics teacher means that you are a commodity. As of June 1, 2006 there were seven teaching positions open for high school physics teachers in South East Pennsylvania. There are now 15 physics positions open for the 2006/07 school year in the Philadelphia School District alone.

Certification To earn a certification in Pennsylvania a person must complete a teacher certification program at a four year university. As a part of the curriculum and requirements for graduation a person must take the proper Praxis tests. These tests measure an array of concepts in the field that the person seeks certification.

Information Source This site is designed to keep educators informed and up to date on everything they need to know about teaching in Pennsylvania. The most important aspect of the website is the information is provides about certification.

http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/sci_edu/ph ysites.html http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/sci_edu/ph ysites.html The web provides not only a previously inconceivable wealth of information, but also the potential for experiences which it was previously difficult or impossible to have oneself. With this potential in mind, the list of sites related to physics and provided below has been compiled as an aid to teachers and students wishing to try out virtual, "hands-on" experiences in physics.

Most modern technology came from physics. 2. Most branches of sciences contain principles obtained from physics. 3. Physics classes can help polish the skills needed to score well on the SAT. 4. College recruiters recognize the value of physics classes.

5. College success for virtually all science, computer, engineering, and premedical majors depends on passing physics. 6. Physics classes hone thinking skills. 7. The job market for people with skills in physics is strong. 8. A knowledge of physics is needed to understand music, art, and literature.

http://www.pathwhelp.org/ This site offers free live homework help from teachers. Students can ask direct questions about their physics homework and get immediate feedback.

The Physics of Baseball As a part of the “Real World” physics work my students will be doing, they will be exploring the physics of baseball. The scanned video cover and OCR file above are resources they will use. Go to the OCR File

Conclusion This paper has covered a vast amount of information for anyone who is interested in teaching physics, currently teaching physics, or learning physics. I fall into the category of people who are interested in teaching physics, that’s why I choose this as my topic. Click Here for Audio
