7 Minimum Qualifications to Teach OAP1.) Bachelor’s Degree 2.) Associate’s Degree With a Major related to the subject, and either one of the following: A.) 30hrs or 2 semester units of academic work, understanding the needs of Older Adults (can be completed during the first year of employment) B.) 1yr full-time (or equivalent) professional experience working with Older Adults With a Major related to subject, and both of the following: 60hrs or 4 semester units academic work, understanding the needs of Older Adults (can be completed during the first year of employment) 2yrs full-time (or equivalent) occupational experience in subject 3.) or the Equivalent of above Older Adults Program • (707) • older-adults.santarosa.edu • facebook.com/SRJCOlderAdults

8 OAP Instructor: Example of DutiesAdjunct Faculty are responsible for maintaining currency in their field(s), and our encouraged to: Participate in updating existing courses Assisting in the assessment of student learning outcomes. Participating in community outreach on behalf of the college. Assignments could involve full or partial assignment to any of our locations, and may be a combination of day & night classes.
