3 Location  Ireland is an island on the west coast of the continent of Europe.  The capital city of Ireland is Dublin. Some of the major cities in Ireland are Cork,Limerick and Galway.  Ireland shares a border with north Ireland.  The Latitude/longitude of Dublin is 53 degrees North and 6 degrees east.  A advantage is that you get to be around pretty backgrounds a disadvantage is that you might not understand there native language.

4 Topography  The main mountain in Ireland is Carrauntoohill.  The major rivers are The Shannon, Barrow and Suir.  The major lakes(channels) are The North channel and The St.George channel.  There are three coastlines one for The Atlantic ocean, The Irish Sea and The Celtic Sea.  The best thing about the topography in Ireland is that you get to see lots of pretty landmarks.

5 Government The president of Ireland is Mary Mcaleese, the prime minister is Bertie Ahem. Government officials are elected to office by people voting. The president of Ireland makes the laws. Some of the different political parties Fiana Fail, Green Party and the Labor Party. The Country of Ireland is divided into25 counties.

6 Economy The major exports are Steel,Lead,Zinc,Silver and Aluminum. The major imports are Equipment, mechinory, chemicals and clothing. People make money by working,some of the jobs are teachers,vets,firemen,nurses and police men. The natural resources in Ireland are crops. In Ireland the local money is called a Euro. A pound in Ireland is equal to the U.S dollar bill.

7 People and culture ·Some of the different religions in Ireland are Roman Catholic 88%,Church of Ireland 3%, other christion 2% and none 8%. ·The different languages spoken in Ireland are English and Geilic. ·The foods people eat are Soda Bread and Black Pudding. ·The main/national holiday is St.Patrick’s Day(St.Patties day). ·The different ethnic groups are Celtic and English they may get along but they have had a rough past. ·People in Ireland play hurling (a sport mixed with volleyball and hockey) and dancing.
