Relative Location Countries that border Italy are Austria, France, Vatican, San Marino, Slovenia and Switzerland. It is in European continent. It is in south central region of Europe. It is in North and eastern hemisphere.

4 Theme # 2 Place Physical Characteristics Italy is shaped as a peninsula. It goes out into the Mediterranean and Tyrrhenian sea. Italy covers 301,338 km 2 in area. It has temperate seasonal climate. Italy is situated at meeting point of Eurasian and African plates. It has a coastline of 3000 km. Human Characteristics Their main language is Italian. Family is very important for Italians. Visiting friends and relatives is very popular. They eat pizza, spaghetti and vegetables such as tomatoes, egg plants, onions, peas, pepper etc. The religion in Italy is Roman Catholicism. It is the largest religion in Italy. Italy has very broad and diverse architectural culture e.g. colosseum, milan cathedral, leaning tower of Pisa.

The name of this national park is: Pareo Nazionale gran paradisio, the first national park to be established in Italy. Each season offers a different activity, for example: hiking in summer, skiing in winter, for instance.
