3 2. Minutes after the hour are indicated by y and the number. a. Half past- y media or y treinta b. Quarter after- y cuarto or y quince ejemplo: Es la una y diez Son las seis y media Son las seis y media

4 3. Time after the ½ hour is usually said by giving the next hour then using menos and the remaining number of minutes. ejemplo: 1:35= Son las dos menos veinticinco 9:45= Son las diez menos cuarto/ quince 9:45= Son las diez menos cuarto/ quince

5 B. Parts of the day 1. A.M: de la mañana 2. P.M: de la tarde (until about 8pm) de la noche (after 8pm)
