2 What type of hair can laser hair removal treat? Hair anywhere on the body can be treated. The laser targets melanin (color), and black and brown hairs respond best to treatment. The coarser the hair, the better it will respond to treatment. Fine hair, even if dark, may not respond to treatment. White, gray, blonde, and light red hairs will not respond very well or at all to treatment.
3 Stages of Hair Growth Laser hair removal can only treat follicles that have hair in them. Hair grows in cycles- Hair is best treated in the Anagen Phase. Not all hair follicles have hair growing at the same time, some are dormant and not growing hair. It takes an average of 6 treatments, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart to remove most of the hair. Expect about a 70%-90% reduction in hair.
