A5 MANTRA : Anticipate , Adapt, Assign , Assess & Assimilate Innovation in Training (Think outside the box) Conducive environment for Learning. Andragogy & Methodology : Instead of traditional lecture method of training Methodology like Demos, Video clips, games, simulation techniques, case study, management exercises are used for adult trainees. Field office Visit & field exercises. Training as per clientele. ( sometimes only facilities)

7 Constraints/challenges facedSkilled Faculties were not available locally because of remoteness of Academy Posted officials & staff were not interested to join & work how to overcome them Excellent facilities and honorarium given to Skilled Faculties of Pune with transportation arrangement from Pune. Retired govt officials engaged as a full time trainer Forest Staff from sangli and nearby area posted. Extra 10% deputation allowance given to permanent class C & D employees. Other Class C & D engaged on contractual basis from nearby villages Extra 30% Training allowance given to all trainers.
8 Enabling factors : what worksOverall Administrative & Financial autonomy given to DG & Executive committee headed by DG. Posting of Interested official & Staff only on the recommendation of DG Effective use of IT in communication Support of review teams in the form of mid course corrections what does not work? Location of Training Academy. Limited Manpower, more dependency on contractual staff. Lack of entertainment & urban facilities near Academy
9 Impact Occupancy percentage is almost 92%Because of Passionate trainer & Innovative methodologies excellent feedback & more trainees wanted to join. Evening games & snack time for informal feedback works very well for trainee centric training & improvement in training

12 Lesson Learned Focus on learning with pleasure, These innovative and interactive methodologies provided lift to the performance of academy. Even a small team can deliver quantity and quality training with proper planning and networking Capacity building of personnel is prerequisite Adults cannot be taught as children. Need to take into account their requirements and psychology. Informal feedback mechanism provides the opportunity of improvement in training. Adaptive leadership & free hand in decision making enhances the performance.
