Matthew 26:14-25, 47-49; 27:3-10; Acts 7:51-53 Men who love to have the preeminence in the Church like Diotrephes! 3 John 9-11; Colossians 1:18; Acts 20:30 2 Timothy 3:1-5 *Acts 5: READ Proverbs 6:16 - These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Eph. 4:25 - Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Col. 3:9 - Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds *Matt. 26:14-25, READ Matt. 27: READ Acts 7: Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. 52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: 53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. Men of the Bible - Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Paul, Mark, Peter, James, John - No one names a son Judas!!! *3 Jn I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. Col. 1:18 - And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Acts 20:30 - Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 2 Tim. 3:1-5 - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Jas. 4:4 - Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 1 Jn. 2: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. *Gal. 2: READ Matt. 6:1-5, 16; 15:7 - READ Matt. 23: READ; vs Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? *1 Sam. 15: READ Matt. 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Psa. 33:18 - Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; Eccl. 8:12 - Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: Eccl. 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Rev. 21:8 - But the fearful (cowardly) , and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Heb. 13:5 - Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Rom. 13: Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Godly Women of the Bible - Eve, Sarah, Rachel, Rebekah, Ruth, Ester, Naomi, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha - No one names their daughter Jezebel, like no Judas’s. *1 Tim. 4:14 - Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Be and example - 1 Tim. 4:12 Heb. 2:1-3 - Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; Heb. 5: For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. 1 Peter 5:1-4 - READ - Elders are to feed and oversee the flock among them, be examples, realizing they must answer to Christ the Chief Shepherd.

Col. 3:21 - Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. Duet. 6:5-7 - And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. {teach: Heb. whet, or, sharpen} Prov. 29:17 - Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. 1 Tim. 3:4 - One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity. Truth Commentary on Ephesians 6:4 - Bringing up children requires a most delicate balance. Every sincere parent must be sensitive to the danger of being overly severe with the child. At the same time, he understands that he cannot take a laissez faire attitude from which the child is allowed to do as he wishes in matters which call for restraint. Frankly, the balance between the two is difficult to achieve in the most loving of families. To provoke (parorgizete) is to exasperate, to anger with irritation because of injustice or needless severity. Unjust, improper, or unreasonable treatment breaks down the respect of children for their parents and blemishes their spirit of love within the family. Parents must be careful to avoid reacting from anger. They must blend firmness with gentleness and that demands a cool head. The common problem of fathers (and mothers) is acting harshly out of emotion or out of their own self-interests or hurt. - C Caldwell, P. 297
