The point of this slide is that Oracle provides integration capabilities with a suite of PaaS services, which are becoming more and more integrated with our IaaS offerings. Ex. RAC (coming soon) apps unlimited on bare metal, etc. Or, we can enable you to go with what you consider best of breed if you find value there. ORCL provides the tools you need to build integrations. This was the first consideration we addressed when we began to offer platform tools. Integration – first thing we rolled out, cause this is an issue. 2 categories of tools – 1. tools to build net new apps for the cloud 2. traditional tools in the cloud for traditional apps, such as service bus. Build new stuff with the new stuff, move existing stuff to the cloud – tools for both Data Management (DB) – Nothing net new for the cloud – and that’s the point. It’s ORCL DB – whether in the cloud or on prem… guaranteed portability between on prem and in the cloud. Not true for all – MS SQL Svr is a different set of code in the cloud and on prem. And we’ve baked in the latest and greatest – nosql, mysql, hadoop… Mobile – net new built for the cloud tools specifically designed to make new and existing apps available across a massive breadth of mobile devices Collaboration – Tool that’s notionally equiv to dropbox – can extend your corp security to cover dropbox-like functionality. API-backed, so you can build custom workflows. Also website builder targeted to intranet uses – make it easy and quick. So, example – we have a partner who is building a solution for oil and gas that alarms users when their supply tanks are running low. Turns out this is an unsolved problem – understanding when to replish fuel stored in tanks. The challenge was integrating with traditional systems and then making that app available on mobile devices for field use (cause that’s where the users are). It is a predictive analytic engine for finding patterns in time series data. Initial focus on predicting proactive maintenance of big machinery, but is expanding into other areas such as sales opportunity prediction and early earth quake warning. In their test runs they were able to double the number of simulations relative to their existing infrastructure. Many of the learnings runs and signal streaming that Falkonry 's custom has to are extremely time sensitive so if their system can learn to recognize patterns faster the value add that Falkonry's solution can provide become exponentially bigger. With the move to Oracle's Bare Metal Cloud Falkonry has been able to increase the performance of their application with multiple factors compared to any of the other top tier Public Cloud Providers. Falkonry is in a very aggressive growth phase and the number of customer PoC is growning quickly. It is therefore important that Falkonry quickly and with ease can adjust their capacity to match the demand.
