5 What is an Icap? Individual Career and Academic PlanICAP is a multi-year process that intentionally guides students as they explore career, academic and postsecondary opportunities. With the support of adults students develop the awareness, knowledge, attitudes and skills to create their own meaningful and PoWeRful pathways to be career and college ready. You will complete an online Google Form related to your ICAP.

17 What is a pathway? A college and career oriented community that is industry focused and provides a lens for student learning. Features rigorous core academic learning and Career and Technical Education coursework. Opportunities for college credit and certifications including work-based learning in real-world workplaces Has an assigned PHS Counselor who supports Freshman Seminars, Career Cabs and is part of the Pathway Team All PHS students will choose a pathway that will guide their learning over their four years at PHS.
18 Why pathways at PHS? All PHS Ninth Graders are in a Poudre Pathway and have a cohort schedule with: Technical Core Freshman Seminar MYP World History/Geography 1 MYP English 9 MYP 21st Century Science Lab Some students are very successful and have well-designed 5 year plans 19% of seniors graduate with an IB Diploma 3% of seniors graduated from the Arts Academy 5% of seniors graduated from our Service Learning Academy So if a Pathway, learning within a context, and having a “family of peers with similar interests” are good for some kids, wouldn’t it be good for all?

20 Full School MYP and the Pre-DP PathwayWe are full school (9th and 10th Grades) MYP Students participating in the Pre-DP Pathway will take Honors MYP Courses Students in the Pre-DP Pathway can choose any Technical Core courses to meet the requirements for the MYP Certificate Students from any other Pathway can elect to take an Honors MYP course but it will effect their cohort scheduling (we would encourage students who are taking all/multiple Honors MYP classes to pursue the Pre-DP Pathway)

Utilizing hands-on, project-based curriculum, students have the opportunity to learn about agriculture in a variety of contexts including animal sciences, plant sciences, natural resources, and agricultural mechanics.
