7 Physiological PsychologyCourse Description : theories on the biology and physiology of the central and peripheral nervous systems how they affect human behavior.  Course Objectives: Learn the anatomy and physiology of the central and peripheral nervous systems. focus on important historical and current research biological systems involved with human behavior gain an understanding of genetic and evolutionary aspects of behavior how the neurological systems affect behavioral disorders and mental illness. understanding will be demonstrated with objective exams and writing assignments.

9 Grading Assignments Exams Optional Paper Practice QuizzesDetails for the assignments discussed on Webcourses and/or during class May consist of written deliverables May be activities conducted in class, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE Note: If you are not present for that class and you do not have an authorized absence, no make-ups Exams Three exams Exams will be 100 questions, mostly from the practice quizzes, some from class exercises (usually I will tell you) Exams will not be cumulative (see class schedule) Exam average will be based on top 2 scores. I will drop your lowest of 3. Optional Paper Worth an additional 3% toward your overall grade If you receive a perfect score on the paper, you would be able to add 3% to your overall grade However, the maximum score you can get for the course is a 100% Practice Quizzes Will be available on Webcourses Most exam questions will come from practice quizzes

10 Assignment/Exam Make Up PolicyIn general, no credit for late or missed assignments, exams except in extreme circumstances. All students expected to be on time for lectures and exams. Students arriving more than 30 minutes late will not be permitted to take the exam No make-up assignment/exams without documentation of a UCF approved excuse or other compelling evidence. According to UCF policy, excused absences include: military service, court appearances, and Official UCF-sponsored activities. For UCF-sponsored activities must bring an official letter (copy of a signed Program Verification Form) at least 1 week PRIOR to the exam from your coach, team leader, etc. Additional exceptions include religious observances, severe illnesses, or family emergencies. Official documentation (i.e., doctor’s written note) will be required. Students expected to notify instructor in advance if they intended to observe a holy day of their religious faith.

11 Homework Format Some written assignments will be uploaded to Webcourses WS Word (.doc or .docx) Portable Document Format (.pdf) Some will be turned in hard-copy in class Your responsibility to get software compatible

12 Incompletes/AttendanceUCF policy concerning incompletes will be followed Incomplete grades are given only in situations where unexpected emergencies prevent a student from completing the course and remaining work is completed next semester. I am the final authority on whether you qualify for an incomplete. Attendance Not part of your grade Some graded activities will be conducted during class Changes in schedule and assignments usually given during class, usually posted on Webcourses Some information from class may not be posted on Webcourses It is your responsibility to get information when you miss class.
