2  El Verbo – The action word in a sentence  El Infinitivo – The infinitive (to + a verb)  To walk = caminar  To run = correr  To hear = oir  An infinitive in Spanish is a verb with “-AR”, “-ER”, or “-IR” attached to the end.  ***An infinitive is a verb with NO SUBJECT. No one is participating in the action.

3  Conjuger = to change a verb’s ending to match its subject pronoun; to show who is doing the action.  You have to conjugate the infinitive verb in order to make sense when you speak.  If you say, “Yo hablar inglés”, you are literally saying, “I to speak English”.  Ex: Yo tengo vs. Yo tener  Ex: Yo soy vs. Yo ser  Other examples?
