2 Preterite of IR and Ser  The verbs ir and ser are irregular in the preterite.  They have the same forms.

3 Preterite of IR and Ser  you can determine the difference in meaning by the context of the sentence.  Unlike -AR verbs, forms of IR have no accents.

4 Ir (to go) Ser (to be) Yo fui Tú fuiste Él Ella fue Ud. Nos.fuimos Vos. fuisteis Ellos Ellasfueron Uds.

5 Ejemplos Yo fui al parque y él fue también. (I went to the park and he went, too) Yo fui presidente y él fue vicepresidente. (I was president and he was vice president)

6 Hacer to do, to make Like ir and ser, the preterite forms of hacer have no accents.

7 Hacer to do, to make Yo hice Tú hiciste Él Ella hizo Ud. Nos.hicimos Vos. hicisteis Ellos Ellashicieron Uds.

8 Note: Notice that the c becomes z before o. Examples: ¿Qué hiciste ayer? (what did you do yesterday?) Él hizo la tarea. (He did homework)
