13 Tardy Policy WHEN THE CLASS BELL RINGS Teachers will:close the classroom door mark tardy students absent Tardy students will: move to the closest check-in station have a school ID to be scanned for check-in return to class with a pass Tardy Committee Will change absence to tardy Will meet with habitually tardy students and call parents
14 Tardy Policy **In ALL CASES –a student must have a passStudents who arrive at school after the tardy check-in station has closed will report to the Attendance Office to check-in and receive a pass to class. Teachers will not allow students to leave the classroom during the first 15 minutes of class Teachers who keep students after class to finish work will provide a yellow pass to the next class **In ALL CASES –a student must have a pass to enter class late
15 Attendance Teachers and officials will keep an accurate record of attendance, including taking attendance in the first 20 minutes of each class. Tardies causing a student to miss more than 60 minutes of a class will count as an absence. Students with 10 or more absences in any class…
16 Hall Pass and ID Hall PassWhile classes are in session students are required to have a Hall Pass when out of class and a school ID. Student ID’s All students should able to present a school ID upon request. Early release and late arrival students MUST be in possession of their student ID at dismissal and arrival.
17 Early Release Students with early checkout status due to reduced course load must complete an “early release” form to have on file in the office. Seniors who are released early must be off campus when the tardy bell rings for the next class or under the direct supervision of school personnel.

19 Student Parking Park ONLY in the designated student parking lots.The school retains the authority to conduct routine patrols of the student parking lots and to inspect vehicles for parking decals. Interiors of student vehicles may be searched when a school authority has reasonable suspicion. Vehicles may be searched without student consent, without notice, and without a search warrant. Speed limit on campus is 10 M.P.H. for students and teachers. Parking fines are $25.00 each and repeated offenses may result in a boot being placed on the vehicle. **** Students who owe fees, have attendance issues, habitual tardies, discipline issues, or leave campus during the school day without authorization may have their parking privileges revoked until such issues have been resolved.
20 Grading Our grading system is as follows: A 90-100 B 80-89 C 70-79Final Exams will count as 20% of the final grade.
21 Athletic Eligibility In order to practice for or participate in any athletic contest, a player must receive a medical examination once every year. In addition, prospective players must pass three out of four classes the previous term (semester) and meet promotion standards. The student/athlete must also have been in attendance 85 percent during the previous term (semester). Athletes must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Please call Athletic Director, Kelly Lewis at Ext. 129 for additional information.
22 Plagiarism Policy “A teacher has the responsibility to gauge whether plagiarism has occurred and what awareness of plagiarism the student understands.” Academic consequences follow the policy determined by the teacher.
23 Fines and Due Bills Students are charged for lost or damaged textbooks, to purchase additional ID’s, parking tickets, lost uniforms, and various other items. Letters stating the amount that each student owes are sent out with each report card. All fines and fees owed to the NHCS or to the school must be paid before the student is allowed to participate in athletics, extra and co-curricular activities. Fines and fees may be paid to Bobbie Hobbs in the main office.
24 Electronic Devices Student use of electronic devices shall be limited to before and after school. These devices should be turned off during instruction, unless the teacher has indicated in the lesson plans that the devises will be used for instructional purposes that day or at the discretion of the teacher.

26 Dress Code Please do not wear:Spaghetti straps, tube tops, tank tops, see-through tops, net shirts, shirts that reveal midriff, other revealing attire Short skirts, dresses, shorts Hats, sunglasses, bedroom slippers Obscene, offensive, inflammatory, violent or gang-related clothing, book bags or jewelry Yoga pants, pajama bottoms, swim suits/trunks Leggings – unless worn with skirt, dress or shorts that meet length guidelines
27 Unacceptable Behaviors 1. Insubordination – refusing to do as a staff member reasonably requests. Example: A staff member asks you to move to a different desk. You refuse. 2. Smoking on campus 3. Verbal abuse of staff member 4. Running from an administrator or staff member 5. Trespassing on another school’s campus 6. Leaving campus without permission 7. Creating a major disruption on campus 8. Stealing 9. Vandalism, defacing, or destroying school property 10. Assaulting another student 11. Fighting
