13 District Profile Largest school system in Kentucky 27th largest school system in U.S. 81 percent of all children in Louisville/Jefferson County attend Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). Four JCPS schools are in Kentucky’s Top 10 schools on the 2015 Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP) assessments. JCPS has 406 of Kentucky’s 1,826 teachers with National Board Certification (22 percent). JCPS offers 18 magnet schools and 52 magnet programs at all levels. 172 schools 6,400 teachers 84 percent of teachers with a master’s degree 41,000 Parent Teacher Association (PTA) members

You will receive an asking you for your availability and time preference; important to respond quickly. During the observation, we will be using an observation template that mirrors expectations outlined in the Kentucky Teacher Standards

44 The candidate selection processHR Staffing Specialists select candidates to send to the school level and interview with the school-based interview committee. With vacancies occurring year-round, this step continues throughout the school year This phase is entirely dependent on the vacancies, certification requirements, and school/cultural match. It is impossible to predict the vacancies from year to year.
45 Keep in mind HR shares candidate names with principals. Principals decide who they will contact. Schools will contact you directly for school level interviews The principals will make their selections based on recommendations from their School Based Decision Making Council (SBDM) Official offers are made by the personnel specialists - not by the school administrator!!!

This is issued free of charge. To apply for the Statement of Eligibility, please complete a CA1 form Your university’s certification officer will assist you with this process Please note: Beginning January 1, 2015, the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) will transition to new application forms named the CA series. After January 1, 2015 certification application forms which are titled "TC- 1 or TC-2" will no longer be accepted. For initial certification in Kentucky, an applicant will need to use the CA-1 form beginning January 1, 2015.
