I’m interested in Multi-ethnic American labor literature and affect studies (especially feelings of shame, empathy, resentment) My SURF project examines minority and working-class students’ fraught relationship to the university, immigrant laborers, and their identity politics within literature and society I’m from Sun Valley, CA (San Fernando Valley, born and raised), and my parents immigrated from Mexico. In the summer, I like to go to the beach, hike, and write.

I were born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. Went to graduate school in Ulm, Germany. Was postdoc at Iowa State University, then UC Santa Barbara. Favorite Summertime Activities: relaxing, spend time with my wife and my two boys, WORK INTENSIVELY ON RESEARCH PROJECTS.

I got my masters degreed at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, Ukraine. Then I moved to United States to get my PhD at University of Southern California. I was a postdoc at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles before joining CI. Favorite Summertime Activities: Travel, spend time with my family and work on research.
