4 Business Need Present: Texas Cars shares a hosted Excel document on Google Documents. Each franchise edits the document, inserting their current inventory. On current website potential customers can fill out a form which s a car request to the nearest franchise.
5 Business Need (cont) Problem: Only 10% of website car requests turn into sales. This manual process of receiving request and manually looking over the excel sheet for possible match takes approximately 20 min per request. With the number of requests increasing, valuable time is being taken from Sales Representatives each day. Also, potential customer usually waits too long for a reply.
6 Business Need (cont) Solution: Creating a centralized inventory system which can be maintained by each franchise. This system will be able to instantly show potential customers results according to their search requirements.
7 Business RequirementsDesign/create Database for Texas Cars’ inventory system. Create a login portal for administrative personnel for each franchise. Create a login portal for potential customers to create wish lists. Browse through the cars according to specifications such as make, model, color, price, mileage and type.
8 Business Value Internet Application is portal and can be accessed anywhere by the administrators. Reduce the administrative cost, due to decrease in manual processing.
