Jesus Is Coming Soon
Topics The time is unknown; be alert and ready Sudden and unexpectedHe is coming soon, quickly; the time is near Wait eagerly for Him
Topics The sign of Christ in the sky Coming in the clouds of heavenEvery eye will see Him; like lightning across the sky With power and great glory

Time Unknown Matthew 24:36-39 (NASB) 36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
Time Unknown 38 "For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Time Unknown Matthew 24:42 (NASB) 42 "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.
Time Unknown Luke 12:37 (NASB) 37 "Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them.
Time Unknown 1 John 2:28 (NASB) 28 Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.
Time Unknown God the Father alone knows the time of the Second ComingSo we need to be alert and ready for the Lord’s return all the time. The way to be ready is to abide in Christ.
Sudden, Unexpected As in days of Noah. See Matt. 24:36-39 above.Matthew 24:44 (NASB) 44 "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
Sudden, Unexpected 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 (NASB) 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
Sudden, Unexpected Christ’s return will be as unexpected as the Flood. He will come when we least expect it. It will be like a thief in the night, like labor pains on a pregnant woman.
Coming Quickly Hebrews 10:37 (NASB) 37 FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE, HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY. James 5:8 (NASB) 8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.

Wait Eagerly Titus 2:13 (NASB) 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
Wait Eagerly Hebrews 9:28 (NASB) 28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
Wait Eagerly “Eagerly await” is translated from apekdechomai (G553), which indicates eager expectancy and excitement.
The Sign of Christ Matthew 24:30 (NASB) 30 "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
The Sign of Christ This sign is mentioned only here. Many theories have been suggested as to what it might be, including the cross and Christ Himself. Another possibility might be the early Christian fish sign, based on the Greek acronym for Jesus Christ God’s Son Savior (Ichthus).
Coming on the Clouds Mark 13:26 (NASB) 26 "Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory.
Coming on the Clouds Acts 1:9-11 (NASB) 9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.
Coming on the Clouds 11 They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."
Coming on the Clouds Jesus will return on the clouds of heaven, in the same way He ascended to heaven when a cloud received Him out of their sight. Song next - Steppin On a Cloud
Steppin On a Cloud
Like Lightning Luke 17:24 (NASB) 24 "For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day.
Every Eye Revelation 1:7 (NASB) 7 BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.

Angels 2 Thessalonians 1:6-7 (NASB) 6 For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,
Angels Jude 14 (NASB) 14 It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones,
Angels So Christ will be accompanied by a large number of mighty angels when He comes again.

Mourning Revelation 1:7 (NASB) 7 BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.
Mourning Many people will be very sad when Christ returns, because they will realize they have rejected Him and they are lost.
Trumpet Matthew 24:31 (NASB) 31 "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

Trumpet 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (NASB) 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

The Resurrection
Topics Christ Himself will raise the dead. When Christ returns all the dead will be raised with immortal bodies. The dead in Christ will rise first.
Topics The living will be changed into immortal bodies. The immortal body will be different than this fleshly body, like a plant is different from the seed it grew from.
Christ will raise the deadJohn 6:40 (NASB) 40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."
Christ will raise the deadJohn 11:25 (NASB) 25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies,
Christ will raise the deadChrist is the resurrection and the life. He Himself will raise all the dead on the last day, the day of the Second Coming.
Dead will be raised John 5:28-29 (NASB) 28 "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, 29 and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.
Immortal bodies 1 Corinthians 15:50, 53 (NASB) 50 Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
Immortal bodies 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 (NASB) 1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,
Immortal bodies 3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked. 4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.
Raised with immortal bodiesAll the dead will be raised. The perishable must put on the imperishable. The mortal will be swallowed up by the immortal.
Dead in Christ 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (NASB) 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Dead in Christ The dead in Christ will rise before the lost, and will rise to meet the Lord in the air.
Living will be changed 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (NASB) 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
Living will be changed The dead will be raised imperishable, and the living will be changed to the imperishable body instantaneously at the trumpet of God.
The heavenly body Matthew 22:30 (NASB) 30 "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
The immortal body 1 Corinthians 15:35-49 (NASB) 35 But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?" 36 You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies;
The immortal body 37 and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own.
The immortal body 39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another.
The immortal body 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body;
The immortal body 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
The immortal body 45 So also it is written, "The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.
The immortal body 47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly.
The immortal body 49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.
The immortal body The new body will be different from our current flesh and blood. It will be much more glorious. It will be a body inhabited by our soul and spirit.
Resurrection Review Christ will raise the dead. All the dead will be raised with immortal bodies. The dead in Christ will rise first.
Resurrection Review The living will be changed into immortal bodies instantly. The immortal body will be different than this flesh and blood, like a plant is different from its seed. Next - song - New Life/When I Wake Up
