Steps to Jesus Steps to Jesus Bible I &II Fruit of the SpiritTalk with Jesus Prayer Warrior

Steps to Jesus Composed of mostly NAD awards and one FL awardThis is a spiritual board A few other awards can be included, such as prayer.

Getting to know Jesus Who is Jesus? Jesus is the son of God.Because sin came into the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, God asked Jesus to come and make things right again. Jesus was born (about 2,000 years ago), and lived in a part of the world called the Holy Land. When he was about thirty years old, he began to preach and to heal the sick. Three or four years later he was nailed to the cross to die. When the people who loved him went to his grave three days later, Jesus’ body wasn’t there. He had come back to life, just like he said he would. Where is Jesus now? Jesus is in heaven with his father. But he has not left us alone here on earth. He sent the Holy Spirit to live with us- to make strong when we feel like giving up, to help us to care about other people when we sometimes don’t feel like it, and to tell us that Jesus will always love us. Why did Jesus have to die? It was all part of God’s great plan to make right what had become so wrong because of sin. You see, we all deserve to be punished. God loves so much he sent Jesus to take our punishment. Because of Jesus we can know for sure that God will welcome us into his loving arms when Jesus returns to earth and takes to heaven to live forever with him.

Getting to know Jesus Does Jesus love me?Jesus loves you more than you can imagine. He loves you when you cry and when you laugh; when you argue with your brother or sister or when you’ve had a bad day. Jesus loves you so much that he died for you-but he isn’t still dead. He is alive, and he loves you and is watching over you every day. Will Jesus ever stop loving me? No! He will love you your whole life long. There will be times when you wonder if Jesus is really real. You’ll wonder if he loves you. There will also be times when you do things that you shouldn’t-when you act mean to your sister or brother or when you lie to your parents; but when you pray and tell Jesus that you have times when you doubt; and that you know you’ve done wrong and you want you do better-you can be sure that he’ll never let you down. How do I know that I’m a Christian? There are many signs. When you love Jesus with all the love you can give, when you know deep down that Jesus loves you, when you believe that he died to forgive your sins, when you want to live for Jesus-those are some good signs that will help you know you are a Christian. Sure, you’re going to fail sometimes, but you see, God’s love for you is so great that it covers those times when you fail. He sees deep into your heart. He knows your desire to live for him, and he loves you.

Bible I&II What is the bible? The bible is a book that tells us about God. It shows us what he’s like, what he has done and what he wants to do. It tells us about ourselves-about how God made us and about how sin came into the world. It tells us about Jesus, who came to show us how much God loves us and want to forgive our sins. How was the bible written? God wrote the bible. He used humans to write his words. God inspired each writer. They wrote exactly what God wanted them to. The style of each writer may be different, but the meaning in the message is the same. Who wrote the bible? The people who wrote the bible lived a long time ago. Moses, who wrote the first five books of the bible, lived about 3,500 years ago. John, who wrote the last book, lived about 1,900 years ago and many others. In some way we are a lot like many of those people. They did good things and bad things, but God still used them to write down the words that tell us how much he loves us. Why is the bible important to me? The bible is important, because it is the way that God talks to you and me to let us know that he is real. The bible is more than a bunch of old stories about some people who lived a long time ago. It is God’s love letter to us, assuring us that he is interested in us and will take care of us every day.

How to Pray How do I start?Think about the things you want to say and then tell God those things. Praying may not be as hard as you might think. What is hard is getting in the habit of talking with God every day. You may want to say things like “Thank you”, “I’m sorry” or “Please help me.” You don’t have to use fancy words...you can talk to God like you would talk to your mom or dad or a friend. Can I tell God anything? You sure can. There isn’t a thing you can say to him that would make stop loving you. You can tell him when you’re sad or grumpy. You can thank him when everything is going your way. You can lean on him when you’re having a bad day. You can talk to him just like you would talk to a friend. But you know what? Your friend might let you down. Mom and dad might not always listen, but God will always listen-and he’ll understand. How do I know God hears me? God promises to listen! God has promised in the bible that he will listen to you. Look at Psalm 66: and John 16:23, where God promises to listen when you pray in Jesus’ name. Most important of all, the Holy Spirit lives in your heart. He helps you know for sure that God listens when you talk to him. Must I fold my hands and close my eyes when I pray? That’s one way to do it. Closing your eyes shows you don’t want anything to get in the way of talking with God. But it’s not the only way to pray. You can pray while on your knees or standing up. You can pray with toys in your hand or while you’re hugging your mom. God will always be there to hear when and where you choose to talk to him.

Fruit of the Spirit What is the fruit of the spirit? But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-control: against such there is no law. When we become Christians, people around us should know by the way we by the way we act. The fruit of the spirit, lived out in our everyday lives, is our proof to the world that we are becoming like Jesus. Do we, as Christians, grow the fruit of the spirit automatically? No, we are given the fruit of the spirit as we grow in the spirit. After we accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit will grow the fruit of the spirit in our lives. We have to stay connected to Jesus, JOHN 15:1-8, just as the branches are connected to the vine. We stay connected when we study our bibles and pray daily. Do I have to be all grown up to have the fruit of the spirit grow in me? No. You can choose, along with the Holy Spirit, to grow the fruit of the spirit in your lives at any age. We don’t all grow the fruit of the spirit at the same time. God wants us to rely on him to help us. Even grownups need to choose everyday to let the fruit of the spirit show in their lives.
