19 About the region Snow on the ground from October/November to AprilAverage winter temperature: -16°C (but it can go as low as -40!) A prime location for outdoor enthusiasts: large lakes (Lake Saint-Jean), meandering rivers (Saguenay), towering mountains (Valin mountains) and a fjord (Saguenay Fjord) carved out of a glacial valley.
