7 TUAS is international… …in terms of teaching and studiesAn international learning environment or a multicultural and multilingual campus  supports internationalisation at home 7 degree programmes in English Extensive international cooperation network: about 100 partner universities Double and joint degree agreements and international cooperation projects related to the teaching Student, trainee and teacher mobility: in 2015, TUAS received and sent a total of 640 students. 8 Tuition fees for non-EU/EEA studentsThe tuition fee is 9000 EUR per academic year for non-EU/EEA students who start their studies in Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes offered in English in 2017 or after that. Scolarship programme in TUAS: By completing 55 ECTS credits per year, the student will be refunded a third of the fee. 11 Open studies at TUAS Studies at the Open University of Applied Sciences are open to everyone, regardless of age or educational background. TUAS Open University of Applied Sciences offers courses or modules from the degree programmes in Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS). Information about the available courses: TUAS Open University of Applied Sciences has a course fee of EUR 15 / ECTS (e.g. a 5 ECTS course will cost EUR 75, etc.). In addition to degree education, our learning contimuum includes development targeted at working life and services for life-long learning. Our learning environments consist of our working life partners, the state-of-the-art laboratories and training premises which act as our students’ workplaces and virtual environments. Traditional, lecture-based classroom teaching will be renounced. The special role of the Salo campus is to act as a test platform for our own learning environments.

29 At the frontline of circular economyTechnical innovation university of the future > Circular economy At the frontline of circular economy After having completed a degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering at TUAS, our students can plan, scale and master chemical processes and select the suitable material for each purpose. They can take into account material and energy efficiency and efficient material recycling after the product’s life cycle. We look at production processes from the viewpoint of material efficiency. It means that you have to know how to select the correct material for the correct purpose already at the planning stage. Waste from the processes is utilised as new material or turned into renewable energy. Waste and by-product flows are utilised as raw material by another company.
