US Payroll Configure pay records and process payroll with equivalent functionality to the Payroll module in Dynamics AX 2012 R3. With this release, Microsoft adds specific capabilities that are available in the previous, on-premises version to this release. Specific enhancements enhance the purpose-built business processes in the Human Capital Management and Finance domains including: 1. Enabling global and local organization to meet specific regulations: Adding country-specific capabilities for 18 countries: Country-specific capabilities to meet local regulations for the following additional countries: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand. Enable configuration of country-specific capabilities by moving the electronic reporting features, some non-electronic reports and payment import formats for these 18 countries into GER configurations. In this release, we also provide Arabic language translation including Right to Left and Bi-Directional language support. 2. Provide insights into the organization: Power BI content pack for HCM: Provide key metrics across Human Resources. Pin individual charts to existing workspaces for additional insight without leaving the application. Cost Accounting: In the new Cost Accounting application, cost accounting ledgers can be easily defined to allocate and distribute different types of cost to cost objects (such as cost centers) with your own hierarchies. The Cost Accounting application is designed to support global companies and different types of deployment, with data sources from Dynamics AX and/or external systems (such as other ERPs) and merge data into a common format for cohesive managerial accounting and analysis with a modern productivity touch through Workspace, Excel and PowerBI. 3. Supporting iOS and Android Common navigation and a consistent shell provide unique experience across the channels. Investments in Retail include the following initiatives: 1. Dynamics AX allows an in-store server, designed to operate with the simplicity of an appliance, to cache data locally to accelerate operations when the service is connected, provide for offline capture of transactions when it is not, to recover offline transactions through store and forward upon reconnection, and finally to provide for the connection of local hardware peripherals (such as receipt printers in the retail environment). This combination of a cloud system operating together with local hardware appliances is an excellent example of hybrid deployment – delivered in Dynamics AX for Retail today. 4. iOS and Android support: we provide POS support of both iOS and Android. 9 What’s new in OperationsBusiness Intelligence, Mobility, and Upgrades Embedded Power BI Enable Embedded Power BI scenarios for Dynamics 365 for Operations Easily Design Mobile Experiences Provide power users with a platform to design mobile experiences for their organization without coding. Data migration for Dynamics AX 2009 Data migration tool set to migrate data from Dynamics AX 2009 implementations to Dynamics 365 for Operations. (Migration tools for AX2012 to Dynamics 365 for Operations planned for Q1 2017) Investments in BI, Mobility and upgrades include the following: Embedded Power BI: Enable Embedded Power BI scenarios for Dynamics 365 for Operations Easily Design Mobile Experiences: Provide power users with a platform to design mobile experiences for their organization without coding. The Dynamics AX Mobile Platform is a Cordova based application which runs on HTML, JavaScript and CSS. The Mobile Platform contains plugins which allow for platform-specific “native look and feel”. The AX source code for the Mobile Platform is device agnostic – the device specific behavior is produced at compile time by the Cordova framework. After compilation, the Mobile Platform is distributable via a compiled mobile-platform-specific binary. Short term plans include distributing a binary for iOS smartphones and Android smartphones. Longer term plans also include a Windows 10 mobile version. Each mobile app store (Apple’s “App Store”, the Google Play Store, and the Window Store) has a process that allows developers to upload a binary version of their application to be hosted in the store. When the application is hosted in one of the stores, the application becomes publicly viewable and installable. In the direct channel you will be able to find Plan 1 and Plan 1 apps only A couple of items I’d like to highlight. Dynamics 365 will not be available in either Open or DPL, customers in these programs will need to migrate to another channel to purchase. For those of you not familiar with MPSA, otherwise known as the Microsoft Product and Services Agreement, it is a next gen licensing program with 1, 2, or 3 year term commitments, during which term the pricing is locked. Customers there have up to a 1 year minimm to meet their minimum commitment. With the launch of Dynamics 365 we add a short term subscriptions option in MPSA and direct.
