Appointments can be made  by telephone only.We offer ten minute face to face appointment slots for routine matters.  You can request a double appointment (20 minutes) if you feel you may need more time.  We also offer pre-bookable telephone appointments for any matters which you do not need to see the GP face to face.  If you wish to book an appointment for a future date, you should not phone the Practice until 10am.

You may request to see any Doctor at time of booking – for ongoing problems we would encourage you to see the same Doctor.  If a suitable appointment is not available with the Doctor/Nurse of your choice, you may be offered one with another member of the team. Appointments are for one patient only and all consultations are by appointment only.

If you cannot keep an appointment please inform us as soon as possible, ideally giving 24 hours notice.  For all patients with a current mobile telephone number registered you will receive a reminder text one working day before your appointment with the Practice Nurse/GP. This allows you to text back if cancelling.  If cancelling within 4 hours of your appointment please also phone the practice. Doctors try to keep to time.   However, if a patient has a difficult problem or requires urgent hospital admission, delays can result.  We will endeavour to inform you about delays and we appreciate your patience if this occurs.

Changes to how we manage appointmentsFrom the 1st August 2017 our Reception team will ask all patients information regarding their reason for an appointment at the Practice. It is not a case of the receptionists being nosey! The reception staff are members of the practice team and it has been agreed they should ask patients ‘why they need to be seen’. Reception staff are trained to ask certain questions in order to ensure that you receive: the most appropriate medical care, from the most appropriate health professional, at the most appropriate time.

Receptionists are asked to collect brief information from patients:1. To help doctors prioritise house visits and phone calls 2. To ensure that all patients receive the appropriate level of care 3. To direct patients to see the nurse or other health professional rather than a doctor where appropriate. Reception staff, like all members of the team, are bound by confidentiality rules Any information given by you is treated strictly confidentially. The Practice would take any breach of confidentiality very seriously and deal with accordingly. You can ask to speak to a receptionist in private away from reception. However if you feel an issue is very private and do not wish to say what this is then this will be respected.
