24 CONCLUSIONES Los genes que codifican para la familia Omp25/Omp31 se encuentran conservados en el género Brucella, sin embargo, varias diferencias importantes en su secuencia de ADN fueron encontradas entre la especies. Este polimorfismo podría estar involucrado en la diferencia de virulencia y preferencia de hospedador existente entre las especies de Brucella Los sueros obtenidos en conejo frente a las PME de la familia Omp25/Omp31 de Brucella spp. han permitido determinar que las proteínas Omp31, Omp25, Omp25c y Omp22 se sintetizan en B. ovis PA. Por el contrario, las proteínas Omp31b y Omp25b no se han detectado en esta bacteria, resultados esperados teniendo en cuenta observaciones previas a nivel del ADN, pero sí se han detectado en la cepas de B. ovis PA complementadas con genes Omp31b y Omp25b funcionales, lo que comprueba su antigenicidad.

25 CONCLUSIONES El papel de las proteínas Omp31, Omp25 y Omp25c en la virulencia en ratón de B. ovis PA parece poco relevante. Sin embargo, no se puede descartar su implicación en el establecimiento de un proceso infeccioso en carneros, aspecto que sería interesante evaluar. Las proteínas Omp25d y Omp22 son necesarias para la virulencia de B. ovis en ratón, por lo que sería interesante analizar su papel en el establecimiento de un proceso infeccioso por B. ovis en carneros y también su implicación en la virulencia de otras especies del género Brucella. A pesar de que Brucella spp. no posee los típicos factores de virulencia, presenta factores de virulencia especializados como son: LPS, cadenas O, OMPs, BacA, T4SS, BvrR/BvrS, (CßGs)
